When This Girl Was Kidnapped, Her Family Broke Down The Door And KILLED Her Kidnapper

When Duson, Louisiana resident Bethany Arceneaux went missing, her family soon became worried. They knew that Miss Arceneaux had obtained a restraining order against her former boyfiend, Scott Thomas, after he locked her in her home, made threats to kill her and, Miss Arceneaux later claimed, dragged her around by her hair, tried strangling her and held a knife to her throat. Her family, in particular her cousin (who cannot be named for legal reasons), her brother Ryan and her uncle Marcus, realised that Scott Thomas (pictured below, along with Bethany) may have been responsible for Bethany’s disappearance and went to the local sheriff’s department with their concerns.

The cops realized Bethany was in danger and quickly formed a search party. Her family did too, using off road ATVs. They scoured the local area and it wasn’t long before the Arceneaux family members came across Thomas’s car. This led them to discover an abandoned house almost hidden from view in a sugar cane field not far from the car, and it was there that Thomas and Bethany were spotted by Marcus Arceneaux through an open window.   Realizing he had to act fast, Mr. Arceneaux kicked down the door of the abandoned house. Thomas then began repeatedly stabbing Bethany and it was at this point that her cousin shot him dead. It was the only way to stop him before Bethany was murdered before their eyes. Bethany’s brother Ryan later told reporters:   “We kicked doors down. It was like a movie unfolding. If we would have waited, she would have been dead.”   As Thomas lay dying, Marcus Arceneaux gathered up his neice and rushed her to the local hospital where she received treatment for several stab wounds. Here she is being pulled from the car outside the hospital by her concerned uncle.

“She’s shook up,” Ryan confirmed later, “she’s sliced up, but she’s alright.”   Captain Kip Judice of the Lafayette Parish Police Department confirmed they had discovered the body of the 29 year old Thomas later that day. “The man began harming her,” the Captain told reporters. “Marcus did what he needed to do to stop that aggressive behavior from Mr Thomas.”
It has since been confirmed that Bethany Arceneaux’s cousin will not face prosecution for the killing of Scott Thomas. The Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department stated that her cousin had acted within Louisana state law, which allows for the use of deadly force if there is the potential for greater harm to be inflicted on another person.   In this case, we think that’s a clear case of justice served.   SOURCE CNN

  5. Good on the family for their brave actions however in Australia we would be put on trial for murder even if we were trying to protect our families
